President Duterte congratulates Trump's victory, "Mabuhay ka! Medyo pare-pareho kami"
President Rodrigo Duterte congratulated Donald Trump's victory as the 45th President of the United States of America.
Duterte speaks at a gathering of Filipinos in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
"Ayaw ko nga, sabi ko, makipag-away kasi nandiyan na si Trump. I would like to congratulate President Trump. Mabuhay ka!" Duterte said.
“Pareho tayo nagmumura. Konting rason lang, mura kaagad. Medyo pare-pareho kami," Duterte added.
“Ayaw ko po ng kalaban, but I cannot also – sabi kasi nila, ‘tutal tapos na ang election, nanalo na si Trump, why don’t you just shut up?” Duterte said.

Earlier, the Palace released Duterte's statement which he congratulated Trump and he said he would like to "enhanced Philippines-US relations anchored on mutual respect, mutual benefit, and shared commitment to democratic ideals and the rule of law."
